About password protected downloads

As in the old anonymous FTP days, downloads here are protected by passwords. The login info is:

Username: guest
Password: guest

This had to be done because of all the bots and scrapers that are constantly crawling the site and eating up bandwidth.

Unlike some other antibot measures, this one requires no Javascript nor third-party proxies, and works with all browsers. It is also 100% effective (for now).
